Technical Abstract: Thirteen varieties of Gossypium hirsutum were screened for tolerance to the reniform nematode in 2006 at the Delta Research and Extension Center, Stoneville, MS. The trials were arranged in a split plot design, with four rows of untreated and four rows of Temik 15G, 7 lb/acre for each variety. This trial was planted in two locations, one with a naturally lower reniform population, and one with a naturally higher reniform population. Stand, reniform reproductive indices at midseason and harvest, and yield data were used to indicate possible tolerance at both locations. Results will indicate if appreciable amounts of tolerance to the reniform nematode are present in the screened varieties.
