Technical Abstract: The International Society for Applied Ethology (ISAE) was created in 1966 as the Society for Veterinary Ethology, with a primary membership of U.K.-based veterinarians. It quickly expanded to encompass researchers and clinicians working in all areas of applied animal behavior and all over the world. It was renamed in 1991 to reflect this growth and it continues to be the principal learned society for workers in the field of applied ethology.
