Characterization of various isolates of a naturally occurring recombinant avian leukosis virus using biological assays and polymerase chain reaction [abstract]. Technical Abstract: Recently, we have isolated a naturally occurring recombinant avian leukosis virus (ALV) containing the envelope of ALV-B and LTR of ALV-J from commercial layer flocks affected with myeloid leukosis. Seven new isolates of the recombinant ALV, isolated from the same flock, were characterized using biological assays and polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The results suggested that the seven isolates are similar to the original isolate termed ADOL-AF-115-4. DNA sequences of the seven isolates of this recombinant ALV will be compared.
