Technical Abstract: The Rangeland Resources Research Unit (RRRU) is a team of U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service scientists headquartered at the High Plains Grasslands Research Station (HPGRS) in Cheyenne, WY, with locations in Ft. Collins, and Nunn, CO. This group of six scientists and support staff conducts research designed to provide ranchers and land management agencies with viable management options that consider new technologies within the context of shifting priorities in rangeland usage, with an overarching goal of promoting long-term health of the rangeland resources. Current research centers around grazing management, rangeland monitoring, invasive species, and strategies for storing soil C and dealing with increased concentrations of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2).
