Technical Abstract: The AOAC International publishes a report annually on the status of analytical methods development and validation in the area of mycotoxins. The report, known as the General Referee Report, is composed of sections contributed by topic advisors for each of the major groups of mycotoxins (Topic Advisor Reports). The document submitted for approval is the Topic Advisor Report for fumonisins. It summarizes recent information on the occurrence of fumonisins in foods worldwide, and advances in mycotoxin detection and analysis.
