Technical Abstract: In this study, we discussed soybased composites prepared with triethylenetetramine (TETA) curing agent, mixture of epoxidized soybean oil (ESO) and epoxy resin, 1,1,1-tris(p-hydroxyphenyl)ethane triglycidyl ether (THPE-GE). The high strength composites are formed through protein coated flax fiber reinforcement. The compression molding method was used to prepare the composites. Water resistance properties of the composites are improved over those with non-protein coated flax fibers but are less than those with glass fibers. Pressure affects the mechanical properties of the composites. The maximum value of Young’s modulus, 167 MPa could be reached at pressure of 5667 kg. The Young’s modulus of the composites increased with fiber loading at lower content, but decreased at higher content.
