Interpretive Summary: Many small wasps form abnormal growths on trees and ornamentals called galls. These galls can cause serious problems for growers. Beneficial insect parasites that attack the gall formers can be useful in reducing the economic damage of the pests. This paper deals with native gall wasp parasites that provide control of these gall formers. This parasite/ host information will be useful to foresters, nurserymen, biological control workers and pest managers.

Technical Abstract: Five new species of Aulogymnus are described and illustrated. Most host records reflect a specialization by Aulogymnus spp. on gall wasps (Hymenoptera: Cynipidae) forming galls on various oaks (Quercus spp.; Fagaceae). A key to Nearctic species is given and host utilization is summarized.
