Technical Abstract: Previous studies in Guatemala, C.A., of traps baited with the three component attractant, captured a number of Anastrepha spp. (Martinez. Personal communication). However, this is the first account of the 2-component version having greater efficacy than either yeast hydrolosate or the 3 component lure in the trapping of Anastrepha spp. It remains to be seen whether or not 2-component lure is more efficacious than alternative attractants in different environments and in different host's trees, but these results suggest that additional experiments should be undertaken.
