Technical Abstract: Starch polymer can be plasticized under appropriate conditions, however, it lacks properties that are typical of synthetic polymers. In this study, starch polymer has been chemically grafted, crosslinked and modified via novel processing techniques, which yielded starch-based products of improved property. The research will highlight films, adhesives, expanded foams and fiber-reinforced starch composites along with their mechanical and biodegradation properties.
