Technical Abstract: This report summarizes published research across the world in 2003 that placed additional markers, genes and quantitative trait loci (QTLs) on chromosome 7H and developed new resources for barley researchers. Polymorphisms among various genotype collections were examined. Numerous morphological markers were placed on the molecular maps. QTLs were located for agronomic traits, disease resistance, relative water content, beta-amylase, and other traits. Several linkage maps from crosses between cultivated and wild barley were developed. New SSR markers from genomic clones and ESTs, and resistance gene analog markers were reported and mapped.
