Interpretive Summary: The purpose of the Uniform Winter Barley Yield Nursery (UWBYN) is to evaluate fall-planted barleys for adaptation to all the winter barley growing areas of the United States. The entries are submitted by public barley breeders in the southeastern, mid-Atlantic, and Great Plains States. A total of 25 entries were included in the nursery, with 15 of the entries being hulless and 10 being hulled. There were 16 locations for the 2003-03 UWBYN, with one in Texas, two in Nebraska, one in Florida, two in Georgia, two in South Carolina, two in North Carolina, three in Virginia, one in Maryland, and two in Pennsylvania.
