Interpretive Summary: 'TAMO 601' is a winter oat having excellent winter hardiness and very good forage production. 'TAMO 601' was developed by TAES-Dallas from the cross of two unreleased breeding lines from the former Coker breeding program. 'TAMO 601' can be grown where ever winter oats are grown with the exception of southern parts of Texas or other areas having persistent pressure due to crown rust disease. 'TAMO 601' has excellent resistance to stem rust, barley yellow dwarf virus and smut.
