Citation: SCORZA, R. ORNAMENTAL PEACH TREES FOR LANDSCAPE AND GARDEN. LANDSCAPE PLANT DEVELOPMENT CENTER NEWSLETTER. Vol. 14, No. 2, 2003. Technical Abstract: As part of a program in the development of novel peach tree architectures for use in high density production systems we have noted that there are a number of unique tree forms that appear to have ornamental value. Most of the tree growth habits that we are investigating are single gene traits and readily manipulated through breeding. We have also noted that flower form and color can be readily modified. We propose that hybrid peach tree populations that are evaluated for commercial fruit production also be evaluated for their ornamental potential and tested by industry collaborators with expertise an interest in this area.
