Interpretive Summary: Larvae of leaf-roller moths are economically important pests of crops, forest trees, and ornamentals. In order to implement efficient control strategies and exclude invasive leafrollers, it is necessary to correctly identify species and understand their relationships to other species and other groups of species. In this paper we describe several new species and present descriptions and illustrations that will allow accurate identifications of moths that are actual or potential pests of crops, primarily in Chile and Argentina. In addition, we resolve a problem in the identity of an important pest of apple in Brazil. This information will be valuable for apple producers in South America (particularly Brazil), agricultural researchers in Chile and Argentina, and action agencies such as APHIS, whose job is to exclude foreign pests from the U.S.

Technical Abstract: Ptychocroca, new genus, is described and illustrated. As presently defined, the genus includes eight species: P. apenicillia, new species, from Chile; P. nigropenicillia, new species, from Chile; P. lineabasalis, new species, from Chile; P. keelioides, new species, from Chile; P. simplex, new species, from Chile; P. crocoptycha (Meyrick), new combination, from Argentina and Chile; P. wilkinsoni (Butler), new combination, from Chile; and P. galenia (Razowski), new combination, from Chile. We present brief diagnoses for Apotomops Powell and Obraztsov, Bonagota Razowski, Haemateulia Razowski, and Acmanthina Brown, along with descriptions of two new species of Apotomops (A. boliviana, new species, and A. spomotopa, new species), and we propose the synonymy of Bonagota cranaodes (Meyrick) with B. salubricola (Meyrick).
