Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Ca2+ signal transduction requires the meticulous regulation of cytosolic Ca2+ levels. Endomembrane Ca2+ transporters and binding proteins are important components in partitioning these Ca2+ signals to mediate cellular activity. Recently, many of these proteins have been characterized and mutant analysis suggests a network among these transporters. Future attempts to manipulate plant Ca2+ signaling must address all aspects of this complex network.
