Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The overall purpose of the research is to evaluate the installation performance of subsurface drainage installation equipment. The Ohio State University and the USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) are working together to conduct this research. Our results should assist in the development and field testing of monitoring equipment and testing procedures to evalutae the accuracy of the placement of drain pipes by drainage plows, including, but not limited to, the newer pull-behind drainage plows that are intended for use by farmers inexperienced in design and installation of water management systems. The paper presents a summary of the experimental procedures and some field observations in 2001.
