Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Drainage specialists have expressed concern about the newer pull-behind plows that are intended for use by farmers inexperienced in design and installation of water management systems. These plows were designed to be pulled by farm tractors. This paper provides an overview of important factors to be considered when purchasing a pull-behind drainage plow. This summary is under review by stakeholders, and any additional comments are welcome. This material will be published as an extension fact sheet intended for farmers, contractors and others considering the purchase of a pull-behind drainage plow.
