Technical Abstract: Avian influenza is a disease of poultry that affects international trade in poultry and poultry products. Compiling current, accurate, and comprehensive research data and field information are important for understanding the disease, obtaining a diagnosis, and developing and implementing control strategies. This information is reported in a review chapter for an international reference book on diseases of poultry.
