Technical Abstract: The New Crops Research Unit at National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research (NCAUR) does research which facilitates commercialization of new industrial oilseed crops. The mission includes development of new value-added products from unique new oilseed and fiber crops that also produce unique oils; opening up of new markets; introduction of new germplasm to the farm environment which promotes biodiversity in the ecology and improves the farm economy for the rural farmer. Achievement of these objectives is effected by means of collaborative effort embodying government researchers, academia, farmers and industry.
