Interpretive Summary: The Psylloidea or jumping plantlice are an economically important group of plant-feeding arthropods. Psyllids can damage their host plants by feeding on the sap or injecting toxic saliva that may cause plant galling, malformations, or necroses. Before any research or control program can be started, it is critical that proper identification is made. This web site provides background information on the Psylloidea and allows the viewer to search the national collection of Psylloidea through a series of queries. This site is of benefit to psyllid workers around the world as well as those in the United States.

Technical Abstract: The Systematic Entomology Laboratory's Psylloidea Web Page provides general background information on the jumping plantlice as well as queriable access to holdings of the United States National Collection of Psylloidea.
