Technical Abstract: This presentation reviews evidence of the anti-cancer activity of citrus limonoids. Evidence of the lack of toxicity of the limonoids to mammals is presented and the ability of these compounds to induce a specific enzyme to detoxify chemical carcinogens in mammalian systems is discussed. Test results of the effect of limonoids commonly found in citrus against lung, colon, oral and skin cancers in animal test systems are presented.
