Technical Abstract: Over the last decade or so, field experiments have been conducted in several ARS watersheds as part of multi-disciplinary efforts in quantifying hydrological fluxes at large scales. An integral part of these experiments have included tower measurements quantifying hydrometeorological conditions and the surface energy balance of different land cover/land use types. The ARS field sites where measurements have been conducted cover a fairly broa range of climatic and vegetative conditions. A summary of the types of measurements that were made including some examples of the surface energy balance observations from the various sites will be given. In addition, research results using these data from the various locations will be discussed.
