Technical Abstract: The Springer Index of Plant Viruses is both a WEB-based and hardcopy reference covering properties of virus genera infecting plants, animals, and bacteria. The chapter on the genus Curtovirus focuses on single- stranded DNA virus species within the family Geminiviridae that are transmitted by leafhoppers or treehoppers and infect dicotyledonous plants. .Most of the information is presented in tabular form and includes virion properties, genome properties, replication strategy, history, genus members, nucleotide and protein sequences, biology, diseases, and key references. Figures presented include a map of Curtovirus genome organization and an electron micrograph of Curtovirus virions.
