Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The P. syringae pv. syringae oprM gene encodes a putative outer membrane efflux protein that is highly similar to known multi-drug resistance proteins. In P. syringae pv. syringae, the oprM gene is located within the syringomycin/syringopeptin biosynthetic cluster near the salA gene which is required for lesion formation and the production of both syringomycin and syringopeptin. The role of the oprM gene in pathogenicity is currently under investigation. Accession number: BankIt352722 AF297011
