Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: We have isolated two recombinant ALV-J viruses with an ALV-A envelope (ADOL r5701A and ADOL r6803A). Chickens of line 15I5X71 were inoculated with: ADOL r5701A, ADOL r6803A, RAV-1 (ALV-A), HC-1 (ALV-J) and the two parental ALV-J viruses (ADOL 5701 and ADOL 6803) at hatch. At 2, 4, 10, 18 and 28 weeks post inoculation chicken were tested for virus isolation and presence of antibodies. ALV-induced viremia, neutralizing antibodies and tumors will be compared in chickens inoculated with various viruses.
