Technical Abstract: Tamrun 98 is a runner market-type peanut (Arachis hypogaea L. subsp. Hypogaea var. Hypogaea) cultivar with partial resistance to sclerotinia blight (Sclerotinia minor Jagger), high grade, and good yield potential. It was tested during its evaluation stages as Tx901417 and released by the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station in 1998. Foundation seed of Tamrun 98 8may be obtained from the Foundation Seed Services, Texas A&M University Agricultural Research and Extension Center, Vernon, TX. Tamrun 98 is to be grown as a class of certified seed only. Plant Variety Protection on Tamrun 98 is being applied for.
