Technical Abstract: The National Clonal Germplasm Repository for Citrus & Dates was established in 1987 by the US Dept of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service on the University of California, Riverside, campus. The mission of the Repository is to acquire, preserve, distribute and evaluate germplasm of citrus, date palms, and certain related taxa. The Repository maintains a pathogen-free collection of citrus. Field plantings are cooperative with the University. The Repository has had facilities upgrades in recent years, but budgetary constraints on operations remain.
