Interpretive Summary: The moths in Galleriinae contain pests whose larvae have many diverse feeding habits from feeding on beeswax and stored rice to bromeliads. A galleriine species from Costa Rica was reared to the adult stage on a bromeliad and was found to be a species new to science. The adults and pupae of the new species are described, illustrated, and placed in a classification so that they can be readily identified by quarantine identifiers. A review of other galleriine species intercepted by quarantine identifiers and found to be feeding on pineapple are reviewed. This information will be useful to both action agency identifiers and to pest managers and other scientists.

Technical Abstract: A new species from Costa Rica, Epimorius maylinus, new species, reared from Werauhia gladioliflora (Wendland)(Bromeliaceae), is described. The pupae is also described and compared to the pupa of Epimorius testaceellus Ragonot that has also been reared from Bromeliaceae. Other galleriines reared from Bromeliaceae are discussed.
