Interpretive Summary: The Anastasia Mosquito Control District (AMCD) and the USDA-ARS Center for Medical, Agricultural and Veterinary entomology (CMAVE), realizing the needs of local mosquito control workers for advanced training and education, developed a regional workshop to address these needs. Since 2004 the workshop has presented topics to include: arbovirus surveillance, mosquito control, and other vector and pest control information. In 2013 and 2014 there were more than 160 participants from 50 organizations, 24 states, and more than 20 different countries. Each year a keynote speaker and international guest speaker is invited to talk about a subject related to an insect transmitted disease topic. The 12th annual Arbovirus Surveillance and Mosquito control workshop at AMCD is scheduled to be held March 24-26, 2015.

Technical Abstract: Realizing the needs of local mosquito control workers for advance training and education the Anastasia Mosquito Control District (AMCD) and the USDA-ARS Center for Medical, Agricultural and Veterinary entomology (CMAVE) developed a regional workshop to address these needs. Since 2004 the AMCD and CMAVE have coordinated and hosted an annual Arbovirus Surveillance and Mosquito Control Workshop. Workshop presentations include arbovirus surveillance, mosquito control, and other vector and pest control topics. In 2013 and 2014 there were more than 160 participants from 50 organizations, 24 states, and more than 20 different countries. A keynote speaker is invited each year to address a specific arbovirus topic. Additionally, each year one or more guest speakers who are respected in their fields, primarily from international laboratories, are invited. The 12th annual Arbovirus Surveillance and Mosquito control workshop at AMCD is scheduled to be held March 24-26, 2015.
