Interpretive Summary: Salmonella is a diverse bacteria consisting of numerous different strains called serotypes. Recent research found that on a strain of Salmonella previously identified as Montevideo or Mbandaka, is actually a newly identified serotype named Lubbock.

Technical Abstract: Salmonella enterica is principally a foodborne pathogen that shows considerable serovar diversity. In this report, we present two draft genome sequences of Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Lubbock, a novel serovar.
