Interpretive Summary: Utilization of agricultural commodities in sustainable, economic, and ethical ways is essential in the competitive global marketplace. The Sugarbeet is one of the main sugar crops in the world. In the search for sustainability and economic value, the complete utilization of the crop is necessary. In addition to sugar and animal feed, Sugarbeets can provide many value-added co-products for biofuels, human nutrition, plastics, and pharmaceuticals. In this paper,the value-added coproducts of Sugarbeet are summarized. The complete utilization of the Sugarbeet should be examined on the basis of a biobased economy in order to select the optimal combination of co-products for the Sugarbeet industry.

Technical Abstract: The Sugarbeet is one of the main sugar crops in the world. In the search for sustainability and economic value, the complete utilization of the crop is necessary. In addition to sugar and animal feed, Sugarbeets can provide many value-added co-products for biofuels, human nutrition, plastics, and pharmaceuticals. Current research efforts are reviewed.
