Technical Abstract: In expansion of previous work (G. Knothe, J.A. Kenar, Determination of the fatty acid profile by 1H-NMR spectroscopy, Eur. J. Lipid Sci. Technol. 2004, 106, 88-96), an additional approach is discussed for quantitating saturated fatty acids in the fatty acid profiles of common vegetable oils by 1H-NMR spectroscopy. The results from this approach agree with those discussed previously. The equations for determining the content of C16:0, C18:0, C18:1, C18:2, and C18:3 fatty acids are summarized.
