Interpretive Summary: Many insects feed agriculturally important crops, trees, and ornamental plants and cause millions of dollars of damage annually. Identification for some of these require the preparation of a microscope slide for examination. There are times when a microscope slide may need to be sent away to a specialist for examination and identification. This video demonstrates the proper techniques for packaging and mailing a microscope slide without having it damaged in transit. This will be of special interest to students, quarantine personnel at both the federal and state levels, academic teaching institutions, and insect taxonomists.
