Technical Abstract: In this article the author describes his experiences and invaluable lessons on the benefits of cultural diversity by completing two 60-day details at the Washington, DC USDA Headquarters. In the end he concludes that diversity awareness brings flexibility and adaptability in one's character, adds intellectual power to the organization, and depth to its competitiveness. Impact: This article highlights Agricultural Research Service’s (ARS) commitment to USDA cultural transformation initiatives.
