Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Studies in agricultural sustainability require expertise in many fields, and the contents of this book reflect that. The seventeen chapters came out of a symposium presented at the Spring 2010 meeting of the American Chemical Society, and represent contributions from a wide variety of authors with expertise not only in chemistry, but also in engineering, agronomy and industrial economics. As a result of this, very few readers will find every chapter to be equally interesting or useful, but most will find something of interest and utility in this eclectic mixture.
