Interpretive Summary: Attic inlets are a popular addition for new construction and energy saving retrofits. Proper management of attic inlets is necessary to get maximum benefits from the system and reduce the likelihood of moisture-related problems in the structure. Solar energy levels were determined for the continental U.S. for a typical poultry house roof to assist in comparing available solar energy across the country. Locations in areas with dense broiler production in the Southeastern U.S. receive significantly more solar radiation than other broiler producing areas.
