Technical Abstract:
Nutritional assessment is an essential component of the history and physical examination of children with gastrointestinal disorders. An understanding of the patterns of growth and the changes in body composition during childhood, as well as a working knowledge of the methods used to assess the nutritional status of the child, is important for the care of children with gastrointestinal disease.
