Technical Abstract:
Iron isotopes are used in both biological and geological investigations. Three low-abundance stable isotopes are available for human studies. They have been widely used to study iron metabolism. They have provided valuable insights into iron deficiency, one of the most common micronutrient deficiencies globally, and a significant cause of mortality and morbidity, especially in developing countries.
