Technical Abstract: The formal description of the actinobacterial higher taxon the family Pseudonocardiaceae is presented. The differential morphological and chemotaxonomic characteristics and diagnostic signature nucleotides from the 16S rRNA gene for the genera in the family is discussed. A key to the identification of genera within this family is presented.
