Technical Abstract:
The formal description of the actinobacterial higher taxon, the suborder Pseudonocardineae, is presented. The differential morphological and chemotaxonomic characteristics and diagnostic signature nucleotides from the 16S rRNA gene for the families Actinosynnemataceae and Pseudonocardiaceae in the suborder is discussed. A key to the identification of the families within this suborder is presented.
