Technical Abstract: Modern statistical graphics offer insight in assessing the results of many common statistical analyses. These ideas, however, are rarely employed in agronomic research articles. This work presents several commonly used graphs, offers one or more alternatives for each, and provides the reasons for presenting results differently. Adoption of these basic graphic principles by agronomic researchers should improve the quality and clarity of research articles.
