Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The chapter describes the ascomycete yeast genus Peterozyma and is to be published in "The Yeasts, A Taxonomic Study, 5th edition." The genus Peterozyma is newly described and was derived from the genus Pichia following a multigene phylogenetic analysis. At present, there are two known species, both commonly found associated with wood boring insects. Both species are widely distributed in the U.S. and Canada.
