Technical Abstract: The physiology, systematics and ecology of the species that currently composes the actinobacterial genus Kutzneria is presented. The phylogenetic position of the species within this genus relative to the other genera within the suborder Pseudonocardineae is discussed. Methods for isolation, preservation, and characterization are detailed.
