Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The drive for early disease detection and growing threat of bioterrorism has markedly amplified the demand for ultrasensitive, high-speed diagnostic tests for viral pathogens. This presentation describes innovations in the development of platforms and readout methodologies that potentially address demands in this arena through a coupling of gold nanometric particle labelling, surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), and high speed fluidics.
