Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Interest in the use of various lignocellulosic biomass for production of fuel ethanol and other value-added fermentation products has increased in recent years. In this presentation, our research dealing with the development of an efficient pretreatment technology and novel microbial enzymes for use in the production of fermentable sugars from corn fiber will be presented. In addition, current state of research and development to bring biomass conversion technology into commercialization stage in the USA will be reviewed.
