Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The Hard Spring Wheat Technical Committee provides quality data relating the milling and baking properties of experimental lines of wheat that were grown and tested in the 2001 crop. The data in this report were developed under code and provided to the Wheat Quality Council (WQC) by the USDA Hard Red Spring and Durum Wheat Quality laboratory (WQL), Fargo, ND. The physical and chemical analysis of the wheat and flour and pilot milling trials were conducted by the WQL. The flour was packaged and shipped to independent laboratories for evaluation and test baking. Code numbers were assigned to each experimental line and maintained throughout the growing and harvesting of the plots and the milling and baking tests. The codes were revealed after all laboratory and test bake reports were returned to the WQL.
