Research Project: Development of High Throughput Genome and Transcriptome Sequences for Wall-less Bacterial Plant Pathogens and Their Plant Hosts

Location: Molecular Plant Pathology Laboratory

Project Number: 8042-22000-306-002-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Aug 15, 2014
End Date: Aug 14, 2019

Objective:
To support research through collaborations that provide high throughput next generation sequencing for plants and phytopathogenic bacteria. The data generated through the collaboration will be used in genomic and transcriptome analysis and genetic diversity analysis. The Cooperator will provide goods and services necessary to develop appropriate RNA, DNA, and cDNA libraries from ARS- provided materials, and will provide sequencing and data processing to ARS in the form of assembled sequencing data as well as providing the raw data.

Approach:
The Cooperator will produce appropriate sequencing libraries for infected and noninfected control material and conduct high-throughput sequencing. ARS will provide the Cooperator with isolated DNA and/or RNA.
