Objective:
To develop high yielding drought tolerant cultivars adapted to Georgia and other drought-prone U.S. environments.

Approach:
A broad range of soybean germplasm will be screened for drought tolerance in the field and greenhouse. Genetics of tolerance will be ascertained through QTL mapping, resulting ultimately in development breeder-friendly DNA markers for marker assisted selection.
