Objective:
Provide epidemiologic expertise and to coordinate the beef and dairy cattle sampling for antimicrobial resistance.

Approach:
A network of Universities and ARS scientists are participating in pilot testing program for on farm animal sampling. This agreement provides for the coordination of cattle sampling, and will conduct sampling of feedlot cattle on-farm for antimicrobial resistance prevalence for E. coli and Salmonella. This project will collect fecal samples, do culture, and primary characterization of the samples.
