Objective:
The objective is to transform wheat with a chimeric gene for transgenic resistance to the Hessian fly.
Approach:
The chimeric construct will be used to transform wheat for potential transgenic resistance to Hessian fly and other major insect pests of wheat (i.e. greenbug, Russian wheat aphid).
